Swarna Durga is an HR and Operations Consultant and author of The Peace She Promised – a deeply personal memoir of resilience, motherhood, healing and hope.
I’ve always believed that life unfolds as a series of stories, each shaped by a different theme.
Some are joyful. Some are difficult. Some silently shape who we become. And every once in a while, one story changes everything.
Professionally, I am an HR and Operations Consultant with over two decades of experience partnering with organisations across retail, banking and technology. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of building teams, developing leaders, strengthening organisations and helping people discover their potential.
“Yet, beyond boardrooms and business strategy, I have always been fascinated by something even more profound – the resilience of the human spirit.”
Life has taught me that success is measured less by professional achievements and more by our ability to rebuild ourselves when life asks us to begin again. That belief inspired me to write my debut memoir.
Among life’s greatest teachers have been my daughters, whose love, courage and unwavering belief in me have been the silent strength behind a journey that would eventually become The Peace She Promised.
True success is not measured by how high we rise, but by the courage to begin again when life asks us to.
Even after life’s darkest seasons, healing is possible. Hope begins the moment we choose love over fear.
Every story deserves to be heard with empathy. Through conversation, advocacy and community, compassion becomes the first step towards meaningful change.
A memoir of resilience, motherhood, healing and hope.
Some stories are written to be remembered. Others are written so that someone, somewhere, knows they are not alone.
The Peace She Promised is a deeply personal memoir that traces one woman’s journey from silence and survival to healing and hope. When the life she had imagined began to unravel, she found herself facing choices no mother ever wishes to make.
” The title comes from a promise I made long before I ever imagined writing a book – a promise that my daughters would grow up knowing peace, dignity and unconditional love. That promise became the heart of this memoir. “
Every painting in The Peace She Promised carries a story of its own, thoughtfully created to reflect the emotional landscape of the story.
Over two decades, Swarna built her career as an HR and Operations Consultant, partnering with organisations across retail, banking and technology. Along the way, she had the privilege of building teams, developing leaders, strengthening organisations and helping people discover their potential.
Life presented choices no mother ever wishes to make. Determined to create a different future for her daughters, she chose courage over fear and began rebuilding life-one step, one decision and one promise at a time.
What began as deeply personal reflections slowly became The Peace She Promised-a memoir written not only to share one journey, but to create space for conversations about resilience, emotional well-being, healing and hope
The memoir is published-a promise fulfilled and a new beginning. More than a personal story, it becomes an invitation for readers to believe that even after life’s most difficult seasons, healing is possible
Every book begins with one story. It continues through the hearts of those who read it.
This space will soon become home to reflections, reviews and conversations inspired by The Peace She Promised.
Because every reader adds a new chapter to its journey.
Reader voices are coming soon. Check back after the launch – or perhaps be among the first to share yours.
Whether you are here for a story, a conversation, or simply a moment of hope – thank you for taking this journey with me. At its heart, this book is an invitation to believe that even after life’s darkest seasons, hope can bloom.
” The title comes from a promise I made long before I ever imagined writing a book – a promise that my daughters would grow up knowing peace, dignity and unconditional love. That promise became the heart of this memoir. “
